PDO Threads Care Instructions
Proper care before and after your procedure ensures your PDO thread treatment delivers the best results. By following these suggestions, you can help your skin heal smoothly and maintain positive results from your thread lift in New Canaan.
Pre-Care Instructions
- Avoid alcohol 3 days before your procedure.
- Stop taking Omega-3, Vitamin E, and similar supplements 7 days prior.
- Discontinue NSAIDs, anticoagulants (like aspirin), and steroids 7 days before.
- Stop using Retinol and products with Vitamin A or C 3 days prior.
- Treat cystic acne before your appointment.
- If you’re using neuromodulators, make sure they’re incorporated 2 weeks before your procedure.
Post-Care Instructions
- Apply ice packs for 15 to 30 minutes several times a day to reduce swelling.
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated for 3 to 5 nights to minimize swelling.
- Avoid NSAIDs and alcohol.
- Do not manipulate the treatment area or apply makeup for at least 24 hours.
- Do not apply harsh lotions (such as Retinols and acid-based products) for 48 hours.
- Don’t engage in strenuous exercise or soaking in water for 2 to 3 weeks.
Maintenance
We usually recommend booking with us for a thread lift in New Canaan every 6 to 12 months. This depends on how you’re feeling and what your skin needs. No matter what your timeline looks like, we’ll keep track of your results and make sure you’re always looking your best.
