Dr. Teresa Alasio is an accomplished Board-Certified Physician and Medical Director. An experienced medical doctor with decades in practice, founded Intentional Self Aesthetics in 2021. After nearly twenty years in pathology and laboratory medicine, specializing in performing and assessing ultrasound guided fine needle aspiration biopsies, Dr. Alasio made the decision to shift her focus out from behind the microscope to a patient facing role, and joined the world of medical aesthetics in 2021. She trained in all the latest procedures and technologies, learning from the leading experts in the field, and emerged with an additional Board Certification from the American Academy of Procedural Medicine. Not only is she a trained and Board Certified physician in the field of medical aesthetics, she also joined the Faculty of Empire Medical Training, a national organization dedicated to training professionals in aesthetic medicine, in early 2025.
Dr. Alasio has always been passionate about ways to tangibly improve her patients’ quality of life. At our clinic, we’re passionate about empowering our clients and renewing your confidence together. How We Stay Involved
We’re proud to be a pillar of the New Canaan community. Our founder, Dr. Teresa Alasio, is a New Canaan resident, and she is dedicated to social responsibility and local community engagement.
Intentional Self Aesthetics is part of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce and participates in local Chamber events throughout the year, such as the Summer Sidewalk Sale. Dr. Alasio is an active member of the New Canaan Rotary and supports local foundations in fundraising efforts through donation of her time and professional services. Dr. Alasio also writes a regular health column in the local newspaper, The New Canaan Sentinel. In the past, she has served on the Board of Directors for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center of Stamford and has co-chaired the annual Voices of Courage luncheon.
Even before starting Intentional Self Aesthetics, Dr. Alasio has always loved the opportunity to connect with New Canaan through parent associations in the New Canaan Public Schools, where her two boys attend, participating in programs at the New Canaan Library and supporting local foundations that have in interest both in the preservation of the history of New Canaan and those which support its future.
