Intentional Mind & Body Studio

The Intentional Mind and Body Studio is a space located adjacent to our main practice. Flooded with natural light and high ceilings, it is the perfect space to host workshops, fitness classes and events to nurture the mind, body and soul.

We designed this open space to be a complement to our aesthetics practice. We want to offer our clients and potential clients a space where they are free to experience activities related to mindfulness, productivity and personal development that are useful throughout daily life. Through these practices, we hope that they will have more enjoyment and fulfillment in their lives.

Our Offerings:

1. Lunch and Learn: Peak Performance for Busy Professionals

Tuesday, April 23 from 12-1 p.m.

Imagine how different your life would be if you achieved your full potential in everything you did. Imagine also making better decisions, becoming more efficient and getting more tasks done every day…the tasks that really matter. Peak performers make better decisions, they produce higher quality work and they achieve more in less time, freeing up quality time to spend with friends and family, time for passion projects and “me-time”. Peak Performance Strategies have been used for many years by top athletes, elite military and business leaders and you can learn them too.

In this program you will learn to:

  • Understand the principles to optimizing performance
  • Manage your energy and focus
  • Define success in ways that increase esteem, contentment, passion and drive
  • Reduce self-sabotage
  • Enhance the health of body and mind and enhance relationships
  • Develop your own “peak performance formula”

For employers: The Benefits of Corporate Training

  • Reductions in acute and chronic stress, overwhelm, fear, exhaustion, procrastination, self-sabotage, conflict, uncertainty, fear, distractibility and low energy.
  • Improved mental wellbeing with better confidence, motivation, calmness, connection, patience, happiness, resilience, resourcefulness, fulfillment, gratitude and passion for life and work.
  • Enhanced physical wellbeing, with more energy, zest for life and healthy habits.
  • More harmonious relationships with better communication, more compassion, empathy, understanding, trust and less drama and conflict.
  • Enhanced contentment, engagement, efficiency, effectiveness, focus, confidence, motivation, discipline, resourcefulness, resilience problem solving, decision making and independent working.
  • A heathy culture and reputation as a caring employer. Great employees will feel loyal and valued and will be more likely to stay. When a position opens up, you’ll attract and retain high quality candidates. Talented team-mates will step into leadership roles and thrive.
  • Happy clients who feel that your company offers such an outstanding service and meets their needs at a high level, so that they become loyal clients (AKA “raving fans”) who buy time and time again and tell all their friends about your business.
  • Ultimately all of this can lead to increased performance within teams, smooth workflow, consistent systems and even greater profitability.

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in the late 1970s at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It’s designed to help individuals cultivate mindfulness, which is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity and acceptance. MBSR combines elements of mindfulness meditation, yoga and cognitive-behavioral techniques to promote overall well-being and reduce stress.

The MBSR program will span over 9 weeks and involves weekly group sessions lasting around 2-3 hours each, along with daily mindfulness practice assignments. Participants learn various mindfulness meditation techniques, such as body scan meditation, mindful breathing and mindful movement (yoga). They also engage in group discussions and receive guidance on integrating mindfulness into daily life.

The benefits of MBSR for individuals’ health and well-being are numerous:

1. Stress Reduction: MBSR helps individuals develop skills to cope with stress more effectively. By cultivating mindfulness, participants learn to respond to stressors with greater resilience and awareness, rather than reacting impulsively.

2. Improved Mental Health: Research has shown that MBSR can reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental health conditions. By increasing self-awareness and emotional regulation, individuals may experience improvements in mood and overall psychological well-being.

3. Enhanced Physical Health: MBSR has been linked to various physical health benefits, including lower blood pressure, improved immune function and better sleep quality. The relaxation techniques taught in MBSR can help alleviate physical tension and promote relaxation.

4. Increased Self-Awareness: Through mindfulness practices, individuals develop a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions and bodily sensations. This increased self-awareness can lead to greater insight into patterns of behavior and thought, empowering individuals to make positive changes in their lives.

5. Better Relationships: By cultivating qualities like empathy, compassion and nonjudgmental awareness, MBSR can improve interpersonal relationships. Participants often report better communication skills and greater empathy towards others.

6. Enhanced Focus and Concentration: Regular mindfulness practice has been shown to improve attentional control and cognitive function. By training the mind to focus on the present moment, individuals may experience increased concentration and cognitive clarity.

Overall, the MBSR program offers a holistic approach to stress reduction and well-being, empowering individuals to cultivate a deeper sense of presence, resilience and inner peace in their lives. By integrating mindfulness into daily routines, participants can experience lasting benefits for both their physical and mental health.
