With quantitative PCR (qPCR) testing of the stool, we can assess the overall health of your gut microbiome, ruling out infections (fungal, viral, bacterial, including H pylori), levels of commensal and opportunistic bacteria, assessment of the health of the gut mucosal barrier and digestive function. Stool analysis involves examining a sample of stool to assess digestive function, detect infections and evaluate the composition of the gut microbiome. The test we use is the GI-MAP® by Diagnostic Solutions.
The purpose of these tests is to provide insight into the functioning of the endocrine system so we can help diagnose hormonal imbalances or disorders. Using dried urine testing, we can assess levels of cortisol (stress hormone) and metabolites of sex hormones (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone) to identify deficiencies and patterns. The test we use is the DUTCH® Test by Precision Analytical.
Food allergy testing can help identify specific foods that may trigger allergic reactions or intolerances, which can manifest as gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhea or abdominal pain. We use blood spot testing to identify reactivity to specific foods, specifically the FIT Test by KBMO Diagnostics.
